A loan of $725 helped to buy tricycles (three-wheeled wagons for transporting crops).

Modesto's story

46-year-old Modesto is a hard-working man. He lives in his own home with his 39-year-old wife Francisca and his 6 dear children for which he wishes to provide a better quality of life. The fields for sowing, which Modesto obtained with much effort, are the principal means of support for the whole family. Modesto dedicates himself to working the fields where he has cocoa, coffee, plantains and barbasco root plants. His products are in very high demand in the storage centers, since he has a good reputation for growing very high-quality fruit, which helps him sell his goods at a good price. In the harvesting and weeding seasons he hires day laborers to facilitate the work. What he most likes about his work is to protect his crops from the plagues of insects that can affect the development of his plants. He has been doing this for 15 years and what he considers the most difficult is transporting the sacs of his crops, since they are very heavy and it is very tiring. In the future he hopes to buy more land to increase his cultivation. This is his second loan with MFP. He knows that it will be very beneficial for the development of his work. In his communal bank, he is a very cheerful member and is the first to arrive at the meetings. With the requested loan he will by tricycles (three-wheeled wagons) that will be very useful in helping him transport his goods form the ranch to the community.
