Soro Yiriwa Group's story

The four members of the group SORO YIRIWA are all married, and they average 27 years of age and three children each. The women live for the most part in polygamous families in MEDINE, a district in Sikasso City (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). They are on their seventh collaboration with the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to satisfy the needs of their customers. The past loans have been repaid in the right manner. This group of women does commerce in bed sheets, grains, clothing, and shoes, as in the case of Ms. MARIAM S..

MARIAM S. intends to use her loan to buy 100 pairs of shoes. She gets her supplies at the main market of MEDINE. The shoes are resold for cash to a customer base composed of women and men at the MEDINE market and at the house.

She envisions making an average monthly profit of 90,000 francs CFA that will essentially be used for day-to-day family expenses. Her ambition is to increase her turnover to satisfy her customers further.

In this group: Mariam , Aminata , Aminata, Fatoumata
