A loan of $375 helped to buy eight cones of yarn for making sweaters, 'chullos' (woollen caps with earflaps), caps, scarves, etc.

Sunilda's story

Sunilda is a member of the “Dulce Amanecer” (Sweet Dawn) community bank which is located in Puno district, in Puno province and department. She is 40 years old, divorced, and has two school-aged children. Sunilda completed her high school education.

Sunilda sells handicrafts. She has been working with Movimiento Manuela Ramos for two years. She invested her first loan for 500 Peruvian soles in her business selling handicrafts.

With this new loan for 1,000 soles, Sunilda will buy eight cones of yarn to make sweaters, 'chullos' (woollen caps with earflaps), caps, scarves, etc. and pay labor costs for external staff.

Sunilda's dream is to improve her business and export the handicrafts she makes. What she likes about her community bank is the money she makes on her savings.
