A loan of $4,875 helped a member to buy thread and embroidery cloth.

Manos Trabajadoras Group's story

Livia, age 33, is a single mother and has a 13-year-old daughter who is in school. She is an active member of the communal bank "Manos Trabajadoras", where she acts as payment supervisor.

Since she was 15 years old she has been embroidering "fustanes" (artisan skirt worn for folk dances in the Mantaro Valley). She makes her crafts on a order basis, mainly for the holidays in each area. During patron saint celebrations and other events the dance groups participate in many contests.

The loan is to buy thread and embroidery cloth.
