Bashiraan's Group's story

Bashiraan belongs to Mian Channu which is a small city located in Punjab Pakistan and known for its agriculture industry. She has been living there in a 2-room brick house with her family for the past 24 years. She is 48 years old, married to N., and has six sons and a daughter. Her eldest son has a construction supplies business while the second one sells wheat and rice. Her remaining children are studying in a local school.

It is very difficult for Bashiraan and her husband to afford their children’s school fees. That’s why her two elder children left their education and started work so that their younger brothers and their sister can continue their education. The older sons contribute their family financially from their earnings.

Her husband is also involved in a wheat- and rice-selling business. He supplies good quality products and that’s why he has a good number of customers and earns regular profits. He also operates a milk selling business and for this purpose he keeps two buffaloes and a cow at his home.

Bashiraan also supports her family financially by selling wood to her community clients. She is also a very good housewife and does her household tasks very well.

She has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for her husband who wants to improve his milk selling business by purchasing another dairy cow. He has been operating this business for the past 20 years and Bashiraan is very hopeful that an investment will bring more profits to him.

She is a regular loan user of Asasah and this is her second loan application. She has proved herself a responsible client of Asasah by paying the installments on time and by attending every meeting.
