A loan of $1,000 helped a member to buy a new machine to replace a broken one.

Phim's Group's story

Four low-income people have decided to seek a loan for similar purposes. One of these people, Phim M., 31, has been chosen to be the leader of this loan group by the other members.

Phim M. and her husband currently catch fresh fish in and around Tunle Sap River, and they always sell all fish at retail, so that they will get a proper price. They are blessed with four children, all of whom are young and attend school. Currently, the old machine the family uses to connect with the boat has broken down and this has been affecting their income. Phim M. will use this loan to buy a new machine to replace the broken one. She is the head of the four-member group.

Mrs. K., Mrs. N., and Mrs. T. are earning a profit by fishing; all of these women will use their loans to buy nets for their fishing activities.

In this group: Phim, Phim, Phim, Eang
