Carmen Rosa's story

Carmen is 35 years old. She is a single mother with two children, aged 17 and 9, who are in school. Her business is selling ceviche in the district of Subtanjalla, a place which lies 15 minutes from the city of Ica. She has worked in this business for 2 years. She learned this profession by working in a ceviche restaurant, where she learned the secrets of the cuisine which she later applied in her own business. She started it out of economic necessity, and it generates a weekly income of 500 Peruvian new soles. Her dream for the future is to obtain a stand in a good location so she can increase the sales of her business, and it can generate more income for her. She will invest the funds in buying plates, tableware and pots, among other things, to provide better service to her customers. Carmen is very grateful for the support provided to her.
