A loan of $300 helped to buy fruit.

Pedro Damian's story

Pedro is 35 years old and a native of the Department of Estelí. He is married and has three children. He earns his living selling fruit and meals on the main highway through the Department of Estelí. He sells the meals to the workers at a tobacco company.

Pedro started the business with his own money; he’s been working since he was 18. All that time he’s been building up the fruit business and then started selling food eight years ago. All is going well. His family is very supportive, and they all help each other. His wife and children help him with the business--after school his children run the fruit business while he and his wife deliver meals.

Pedro is seeking a loan to buy different kinds of fruit as the season is approaching when there is a greater demand for fruit. That’s good as it means an increase in sales which in turn will lead to more income and more customers.

His next goal is to buy a vehicle in which to transport the fruit and meals. He wishes to save money for his three children’s further education. They are currently in secondary school.
