A loan of $375 helped to buy potatoes, soft drinks, gas, etc.

Irma Dora's story

Irma is a member of the Community Bank “Las Retamas”, located in the district of Puno, in the Puno department and province. She is 40 years old and has obtained a higher education. Irma is married and still has 3 children in school.

She sells fast food (salchipapas: fried potatoes and fried sausage, sandwiches, and sweets) and also offers call-in orders. She has worked with the Manuela Ramos (Kiva Field Partner) Movement for 4 years. Her first loan was 300 soles, money that she invested in her fast food business.

With this new loan of 1,000 soles, she will buy potatoes, sodas, gas, etc. Her sister helps her with the business since her husband works out of town. Her dream is to have a local spot in the central area and improve her sales. What she likes most about the Community Bank is the simplicity of the loan.
