A loan of $375 helped to buy several sacks of organic fertilizer.

Ana's story

Ana, age 35, is a cheerful woman who have lived with her partner, Edwin, for 15 years. They have three minor children whom they love and educate in their own home located in the rural area called Villa Visca. She has worked in agricultural since she was very young. Her main crops are potatoes, lima beans and peas, which she plants with the help of her husband, who also takes care of the Tiambra rural area every morning, where they have a small patch of cropland.

"I have to plant crops in different areas of land in order to get good quality.", she claims. What she enjoys most about her work is the rainy season since she does not have to water her fields then. What she dislikes are the plagues that arrive every year in that season. Her main difficulty is the lack of working capital which she needs to constantly fertilize her crops. But she is confident that with the help of the communal bank, which motivates her to save, soon she will have enough money to buy several head of sheep and can begin thinking about going into meat sales.

She belongs to the "Villa Visca" communal bank and this is her first loan through MFP. She is grateful for the support and opportunity she is receiving. Ana plans to use the loan to buy several sacks of organic fertilizer which she will use on her potato crop.
