A loan of $450 helped to produce homemade gifts.

Laura's story

Laura is 35 years old and comes from Ocampo. She makes her living by producing homemade embroidered gifts, such as napkins, table cloths and pillows. Laura has requested the loan to buy thread, frames, yarns, needles, rings and other sewing materials. She says it was her mother that taught her embroidery and she has been selling her homemade gifts at the [nearby] king butterfly sanctuaries for ten years. She also has customer requests for weddings and quinceañera parties (celebrations held when a girl turns 15 years old). Laura is married to Martín, who is a day labourer, and has four children: Fabiola, Karina, and Gabriela are at primary school, while Alejandro is one year old. Laura is very grateful for the loan, which will make it possible to buy all the necessary materials to make her embroidered gifts.
