A loan of $350 helped to buy three pigs.

Aligda Del Carmen's story

Aligda lives in El Transito in the Salvadoran "departamento" of San Miguel. She operates a business raising and selling pigs. She's a single mother with an 8-year old daughter. She lives with her parents. She has operated the business for 5 years. She started it on her own initiative, working every day from 6:00am to 5:00pm, for all of that time.
Aligda is applying for a loan so that she can buy three pigs. She will raise them for sale. The investment will help her to strengthen her business and increase her income.
Aligda's goal is to hold on to the business because the income it generates is her means for supporting her child and helping her parents.
