A loan of $525 helped to buy perfume and cosmetics to sell by catalog.

Rosa's story

Rosa is from the village of Melchor Ocampo, a beautiful spot filled with vegetation and an agreeable climate. She has sold cosmetics and perfume by catalog for some 4 years. She offers her products to her neighbors and to different people who have secure employment, to avoid problems in payment.

Rosa is requesting a loan to obtain more selection and to be able to offer more things to her customers. She says “My customers like to smell perfumes and if they like them they buy them; that's why I need the loan, to have things on hand so that when they request a certain perfume, I can sell it to them and won't have to delay in order to buy those perfumes or cosmetics.”

Rosa buys her products from authorized distributors in the city of Zitacuaro. She notes that one problem she encounters in trying to gain more customers is the lack of time, because she has to prepare meals for her children plus take them to and from school.

But this doesn't hold her back. She wants to get ahead and she is dedicated to her business. Rosa is married to Jose, an employee, and they have 3 children; Jose Luis, who studies in primary, Alison who is 3 years old, and Angel who is 1 year old.
