A loan of $450 helped to buy chicken for retail sale.

Maria's story

Mrs. María Díaz Díaz lives in Ajilho in the town of Bochil, in the state of Chiapas. She lives with her partner, Mr. Maximiliano Gómez Hernández, and their daughter, Marisa María Belén, who is three years old.

She plans to use the loan to buy farm-raised chicken to grill and sell in her village. She began the business a few months ago and is happy because it is going so well because her prices are low and many people are interested in what she sells.

The decision to start the business was her own idea since she wanted to help her husband with the household expenses so they could pay off debt and get ahead.

She hopes to be able to expand business with the loan so she can continue to take care of her small family, which is what is most important to her.
