Las Chicas Superpoderosas Group's story

The committee, "Las chicas superpoderosas" (superpowerful girls) is from the area of San Ignacio. It arose as a result of the promotions made in the neighborhood. It is made up of 15 women. All of them promise to do their jobs and to make their payments with responsibility in the event that they get access to the loan they have requested and to achieve the greatest level of the program.

Maria Bernardina R. is dedicated to selling "chipas" (typical Paraguayan dough made from a base of cheese and starch). She formed the group with the purpose of expanding her work. At the same time, she now will undertake the sale of not only chipa, but also empanadas and Paraguayan soups (corn-based) so she can improve her income and the education of her children.

All of the members of the committee hope to be able to count on the help of Kiva since they are hopeful that, one day, they will overcome the poverty in which they find themselves.
