A loan of $1,375 helped a member to buy chickens, medicine and balanced feed.

San Pablo Group's story

The communal bank "San Pablo" came about through a contact the Paraguaya Foundation's treasurer had.

It is comprised of 10 women entrepreneurs who live in the same area and are neighbors. With the loan they have requested they plan to increase their businesses and create new sources of income to improve their lifestyles.

Mrs. Bernarda R. was the first one to get in touch with the group's guidance couselor because she was interested in setting up her own group. She works in house cleaning and wants to use the loan to raise and sell chickens. It is a business she wants to get started in, and she also wants to set up a group plan to improve understanding and duties within the group.

All are women who need economic help and, therefore, they trust Kiva and the lenders to help them get ahead just like other groups.

In this group: Yeny , Eduvigis , Daisy , Mariela , Julia , Margarita , Nieve , Bernarda , Jacinta , Elva
