A loan of $2,450 helped a member to buy more coffee and drinks to enlarge her business.

Chhem's Group's story

Eleven people make up this village bank loan. Mrs. Chhem, a married woman who was born in 1979, was selected to be the village bank president by the others members. Mrs. Chhem is a coffee and drinks seller. Her husband, Mr. Kao, was born in 1977. He is a soldier who also helps in his wife's business. With their occupations, they are able to earn a small income to support their family. They have three children. Two are attending the local school and the youngest one is too young to study or work. Since Mrs. Chhem's business is going well, she wants to expand it, so she would like to ask for a loan to buy more coffee and drinks to enlarge her business.
