Lilia's story

Lilia J. C. is 49 years old and lives in a rental house which is located in San José neighborhood, in the city of Tarija. She is a single mother and has two children. Through life circumstances, Lilia was left alone and now she has to work in order to get her children ahead. Lilia has been working as a seamstress for 25 years. She is very well known by her customers who request her services. Lilia would like to make better profits so that she and her children can get ahead in life. However, she tells us that she needs to buy materials for her work such as fabric, linings, interlining, etc. She has a pending order for several items of clothing. With this purchase, she will be able to carry out the work that she has, which is for a group of students. As Lilia has experience in this line of work, her loan will be used to buy these materials which are necessary for her to carry out her work. In this way, she will be able to increase her income. Lilia tells us that she would like to improve her living conditions. She says that her next loan will be used to buy a sewing machine.
