A loan of $1,075 helped to buy six hundred notebooks.

Delcy Roxana's story

Delcy is a member of the Victor Echave Communal Bank, which is located in the Puno district and province. She is 23 years old, has a life partner, and has two school age children. She has a post-secondary education.

She has been working with the Movimiento Manuela Ramos for three years. She used her initial loan for 300 soles to invest in her business. She sells school supplies and materials.

She tells us that she also makes flags, rosettes, decorations, and ribbons according to the time of year.

She will request a new loan for 3,000 soles, which she will use to buy six hundred notebooks. She works alone in her business because her husband works in transportation as a driver.

Her dream is to be a businesswoman and to have a well-stocked book store. This will allow her to improve her earnings. What she likes about the communal bank is the loan from the internal account and the earnings on the savings.
