Corona's story

Corona C. lives in the village of Agusan Canyon, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. She is 58 years old, married and has two grown children. She makes a living by running a sari-sari (or variety) store where she sells canned goods, snacks, beverages, shampoo, soap and biscuits to people who live in her community. She has been in this line of work for more than four years and earns about 12,000 PHP a month from her work.

In 2008, Corona joined HSPFI to gain access to financial services to help improve her life and ability to engage in business. She has successfully repaid five previous loans from HSPFI and is applying for a new one to expand her business by buying additional items to sell to her customers.
