Rosa Melania's story

Rosa E. is a member of the communal bank named "Espoir My Communal Bank". She lives in the sector of los Totems in the city of Cuenca. This city is beautiful for its historical importance, the churches, its natural habitats, and its various tourist areas equipped with a variety of restaurants and 4 rivers that run through it. All of these things make this a beautiful place to visit. Rosa is 48 years old, divorced, and she has 3 children, aged 30, 21, and 16. Her eldest daughter is single, she works, and she contirbutes to the household economy. Her second daughter is in university and her youngest daughter attends school in the city. They don't have a house of their own so they rent. Rosa works at the cafeteria of a school. She has had this business for the past year and she works a double shift, in the morning and in the evening. She has also prepared foods to cater all types of social occasions for the past 18 years. All of the recipes that she makes she learned through practice. This is the first loan that she requests through the communal bank and she will invest it in the purchase of construction materials to build a house. Her goal is to finish building her house.
