A loan of $300 helped to purchase firewood, corn, drinks and other ingredients.

Ana De Jesus's story

Ana lives in El Transito, departmento of San Miguel, where she sells pupusas [a traditional stuffed flatbread made with cornmeal] and soft drinks. She lives with her husband and has two children of 10 and 16 years of age. She started her business with the help of a family member and sells her products every day in the afternoons.

Currently she is requesting a $300 loan to purchase supplies for the business. Her investment will be in firewood, corn, drinks and other ingredients. This will allow her to have a greater quantity of materials on hand to use in her business so she will be able to increase production.

Her goals are to be a successful micro-entrepreneur, to improve customer service and to be in good condition with her family.
