Carmen Rosa's story

This borrower is a member of the communal bank “VIRGEN NATIVIDAD”; in Urubamba, Cusco. Carmen Rosa is 56, married and has 6 children; three live independently and the others are ages 22, 20 and 13. She is a vendor, and buys and sells dry corn on both the wholesale and retail markets. Carmen also raises animals such as pigs, guinea pigs and chickens, as well as cows. Carmen sells her products to others who market them in Arequipa and Lima; she seeks a loan to buy seed, fertilizer and other products to grow maize. Carmen is pleased to have the opportunity to access credit and is committed to prompt repayment.
