A loan of $275 helped to sell underwear and cosmetics through catalogs.

Eunice's story

Eunice is 21 years old. She tells us that she only studied up to the third year of high school because she got married at a very young age and, for that reason, didn't continue with her studies.

Eunice sells beauty products and ladies' underwear through catalogs. She says "I started this business as a game because when I was in elementary school I used to sneak my mom's catalogs into school and show them to the teachers so that they would order things from me and they would order beauty products from me. This is how I started my business. When I was in high school I used to sell the products to my classmates. Later, when I got married, I became independent and decided to set up my own business. Now I also sell ladies' underwear".

Eunice is married to Manases and they have a 3 year-old son called Moisés. Eunice also tells us that on Saturdays and Sundays she sells atole (a corn-based hot drink) and Oaxacan tamales to her neighbors and acquaintances. Sometimes she also makes 'mole de guajolote' (turkey in a spicy chili / chocolate sauce). However, that business is in partnership with her mom since her mom's 'mole' sauce is very tasty.

Eunice's goal is to sell different brands of shoes through catalogs so that she sells a little bit of everything.
