Djénéba's story

Djénéba Traoré is 31 years old, single, and lives with her daughter and parents in the Torakabougou quarter of Bougouni. Miss Djénéba Traoré is a pupil at a nearby secondary school. In order to meet her daughter's needs, such as paying for her studies, she decided to launch a business. For the past three years she has sold wax cloths, shoes and perfume for a living, and knows her trade well.
In order to achieve consistent working capital she has decided to work with Soro Yiriwaso to purchase a job lot of wax cloths, perfume and shoes. She sources her goods from Bamako (the capital of the Republic of Mali) and sells her goods from home or via door-to-door sales in the various quarters of Bougouni. Her customers come from all walks of life.
She aims to use the loan to help generate an average monthly profit of 35,000 FCFA which will enable her to improve her business and repay her loan.
