Sop Mohamed Group's story

The SOP MOHAMED solidarity group was created August 27, 2009. It is composed of eleven women who are all from the same neighborhood. They came together as neighbors and through bonds of affinity. The group is part of the Banc Villageois of MONTAGNE NORD3.

Mrs. Katy C. (standing on the right and wearing a yellow shirt) is the head of the group. She is 40 years old, married, and the mother of two (2) children. She is also responsible for two other children who were entrusted to her by relatives. She has a small business selling clothes and perfumes, an activity she was already engaged in prior to joining the Banc Villageois. Her new loan will allow her to go to the capital (Dakar) to stock up on merchandise (clothing and perfume). Her goal is to help her husband in supporting the family (food, health care, children's tuition, etc.)
