A loan of $500 helped to purchase products (cooking oil, rice, soap, beans, etc.).

Luisa Isaias's story

Luisa Isaias N. was born in the city of Maputo, in the Province of the same name, in southern Mozambique. She is married. She only completed school through the 3rd grade because her parents did not allow her to continue. She lives in her own home with her family and also supports 2 nephews who live with her.

She left Maputo for Boane when she got married. She has had her own business for more than 26 years. She does not have any employees and earns about 3.000.00mt per month. She has help from her husband who receives a pension from an industrial company. The money covers household expenses and she saves some monthly in her bank account.

She has never had loans in other banks. She learned about Hluvuku through a conversation with friends who are also clients of the organization. This is her third loan with Hluvuku, in the amount of 15.000.00mt. She will use the loan to purchase products (cooking oil, rice, soap, beans, etc.) to increase her inventory. Her prior loans were for 7.000.00 and 10.000.00, both of which were used for her business.

She promises to make her payments on time in order to have access to other loans in the future. She plans to request new loans to build a shop and no longer sell her products in the streets.
