Natercia Da Conceicao's story

Natercia da Conceicao T. was born in Maputo City, Maputo Province in southern Mozambique. She is married and has three children, ages 5 to 18. The elder children are still in school. Natercia only finished ninth grade and did not continue due to financial difficulties. She lives in her own house with her family and does not support anyone else.

She left Maputo to move to Boane with her family when they finished building their new home. She has had her own business for more than five years. She has no employees and has a monthly income of 5,500 meticais, which she uses for household expenses. She is also able to save some money through Xitique (a traditional system of rotating savings).

She has never had loans from other banks. She learned about Hluvuku through friends who are customers of this institution. This is Natercia's fifth loan with Hluvuku, and she is asking for 25,000 meticais. She intends to buy products (soft drinks, peanuts, sugar, broth and other items) to increase the amount of stock she has. The previous loans were for 8,300 meticais, 10,450 meticais, 12,000 meticais and 15,000 meticais and were for the business.

She promises to make her payments on time so she can take out more loans in the future. She intends to ask for other loans to expand her sales stand.
