Ararati Group's story

Kihuho E. is an entrepreneur, leader of the Ararati group. She's 59 years old, married and the mother of eight children, who all attended school. Some are now living on their own. Her husband is a press secretary with the governorate of North Kivu province. Kihuho E. sells various items. She finds a spot along the road leading to her neighborhood, sometimes in front of her house. She just completed her fifth loan cycle with Kiva's partner, MFI Hekima. She will use this loan to get new supplies (10 pairs of shoes, jewelry, clothing for men, women and children, belts, etc.). Furthermore, she ambitions to expand her business and build a comfortable home for her family. Ararati group is composed of 27 members, mostly women. Some colleagues from the market joined in for the photograph to express solidarity, there are thus 31 persons to be seen in the picture. Kihuho E. thanks Hekima for its actions benefiting the poor who do not get access to classical banks.
