A loan of $225 helped a member to purchase raw ingredients for her snack vending business.

Esa's Group's story

Esa P., a resident of Magcamiguing, Calamba, is the leader of a two-member group loan offered by PMPC. While each member of the group receives an individual loan, they are each responsible for paying back the loan of their fellow group member if she is delinquent or defaults.

Esa, 52 years old, married, and blessed with five grown children, earns a living by snack vending in the local community. Engaged in this business for 10 years, she earns an average of not less than P2,000.00 a month.

In 2006, Esa joined PMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Having repaid her previous loan, she is now requesting a third loan of Php6,000.00 to purchase raw ingredients for her snacks vending.
