A loan of $350 helped to buy ingredients and supplies for his hot dog cart.

Jaider's story

Jaider is a very well-known Young man from the Sierrita neighborhood in the south part of Barranquilla, where he lives and has a fast food business. He started it when he came up with the idea of selling fried food, like arepas, empanadas stuffed with meat and cheese, and other delicacies. Since his entrepreneurial spirit is limitless, he saw a new opportunity when he spotted an unused hot dog cart near his home. He put together some money and bought it from his neighbor and it has been a source of income for him ever since; selling hot dogs, hamburgers, and chuzos, to which he adds delicious salsas that only he can make.

Jaider wants to reorganize his business and promote it. He also wants to have a new point of sale. In the meantime he continues to work at a profit margin of no less than 38% so the he can reach his personal, family, and business goals.

He is using his Kiva loan to buy supplies and ingredients, such as salsa, meats, cheeses, and sausages in bulk, in order to get them at better prices and pass the savings on to his customers. This will be a successful investment because his offers are more appealing to his customers and he gets more each day. Jaider does not want to deprive them of the chance to enjoy his delicious products.
