A loan of $250 helped to buy balanced feed and vitamins for her cattle.

Marcelina's story

Marcelina is a member of the “SAN MARTIN DE ZURITE” community bank which is located in the town of Zurite, in Anta province, in Cusco department.

Marcelina is 44 years old, married, and has four children. One of her children lives independently while the others are 20, 18 and 17 years old. Marcelina's main business activity is farming and livestock raising. She currently buys and sells cows and bulls. She owns dairy cows, bulls and heifers. She sells the milk from her cows in street markets and also to order. In addition, she makes cheese. On this occasion, she would like a loan to invest in feed for her animals. She says that she needs to buy balanced feed, sutuchi from the brewery ('sutuchi' is the final residue from making corn-based drinks which is used as animal feed) and mineral salts.

Marcelina is requesting this loan to invest in buying balanced feed and vitamins for her animals. She appreciates the loan she has been granted and is grateful for it. She pledges to make her repayments in a disciplined manner.
