Makeni, Sierra Leone / Food Market

A loan of $950 helped to buy various imported foodstuffs for her business.

Isata M's story

This is 35 year-old Isata J., who is married and has four children aged 4, 7, 9, and 15 years. In 2001, Isata established her imported assorted foodstuff business in order to generate income and help her husband provide for their family. Working six days a week and 10 hours a day, she earns about Le 350,000 every month from this business.

She is now requesting a loan of Le 4,000,000 to buy more imported foodstuffs for her enterprise. She hopes that this loan will enable her to increase her monthly profits by approximately Le 400,000. In the future, Isata plans to buy larger quantities to supply other traders, open another food stall, and generate enough income to educate her children to the university level. She thanks you for your support.
