A loan of $900 helped to buy a bag of pea seeds.

Nancy's story

Nancy, age 22, is a woman who is blessed. She has lived with Edner for seven years, and they have two young childen, Wilian and Franco. She takes care of them with much love in her own house in Casacoto, a rural community.

She has devoted herself to farming for five years. Her main crops are peas, potatoes, and beans. She plants her crops on her own land in Ñawin. However, during the harvest season she rents some land to be able to have greater production. What she likes most about her work is being able to sell her harvest in the country’s capital, where she gets better buyers. She also likes to be able to see her crops grow because that is a sign of a good harvest.

Within a few months she will start harvesting the peas that she planted. Therefore she is thinking of planting “única” and “yungay” (types of potatoes). That way she will be able to have consecutive harvests for each harvest season.

She belongs to the “Sembradoras de Casacoto” (Casacoto Farmers) Communal Bank. This is her third loan with MFP. She feels fulfilled; they taught her to save and to invest her money wisely. Nancy will use the requested money to buy a bag of pea seeds. She will scatter the seeds on her fields for the harvest season in July.
