A loan of $550 helped to buy food for her cattle and fish to sell.

Maria Margarita's story

Maria is 26 years old and married. She lives in her own home together with her spouse and 2 young children in a small village located 20 minutes from the city of Mórrope, a district populated by humble and hardworking farmers. It is located in the province of Lambayeque, more than 40 minutes from the city of Chiclayo. She raises and sells small animals, which she sells every 15 days after they've reached a good size and weight. Maria raises her animals in pens behind her home. She also creates additional income by selling fish, walking through her neighborhood and the surrounding ones. She wants to invest her credit in buying feed for her animals and fish to sell. For this reason, she has asked for a loan of 1500 nuevos soles. This is the second loan that Maria has asked for from the Kiva lenders. She paid off the first and made her payments punctually. She thanks the Kiva lenders for support in growing her businesses, which help sustain her family.
