Humbelina Vicenta

A loan of $375 helped to buy more animals and nutritious feed.

Humbelina Vicenta's story

46-year old Humbelina is mother to two children and lives in the district of Chepén, an agricultural area located in La Libertad region, over an hour from the town of Chiclayo.

For the last eight years Humbelina has raised and then sold young animals, particularly poultry, which she raises in a corral near her house. She feeds them grain and natural grasses, and when they have reached a good size she sells them to merchants who visit the area frequently.

Humbelina wishes to expand her business by buying more animals and nutritious feed. This will provide her with a better income and she will be able to make some improvements to her house. She is seeking a loan of 1000 soles from Kiva partner Edpyme Alternativa to help her achieve this objective.
