A loan of $2,050 helped a member to buy vegetable seeds.

La Union De Mujeres Group's story

This group is called 'Unión de Mujeres' (Women's Union) and it is located in the State of Mexico. The group has nine members and this is the first time that they have requested a loan. Maria de Jesus M. H. is one of the members of this group. She is 45 years old and studied up to the second year of her primary education. She is married and has five children (four boys and one girl). She has been selling vegetables for more than seven years. Maria is requesting this loan to buy vegetable seeds since she grows the vegetables that she sells herself. She tells us that her customers have been satisfied with the service that she offers and her produce is good quality. At the time of requesting her loan, Maria feels happy because she will be able to continue with her investments and continue producing vegetables. She also hopes that, in the short term, she will be able to invest in livestock and continue supporting her children so that they finish their studies. In this way, she will see her work rewarded.
