A loan of $450 helped to buy a refrigerator to conserve meat for her restaurant.

Saoudata's story

Saoudata is a woman who lives in Sector 6 of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. She has 3 children. The oldest is 12 and the youngest is 7. Two of her children go to school. She takes care of 4 people: her 3 children plus her sister.
Sadouata has been running a restaurant business selling beef stew, fish stew, and other types for the past 4 years. She purchases her supplies at the Zabré market in the city. Her clients are her neighbors, as well as civil servants.
With the loaned money, she wants to buy a freezer to keep her meat fresh and 15 kilograms of meat.
In the future, Sadiouata would like to improve her restaurant's porch by installing fans, and to be able to prepare stew at all hours of the day. She would also like to improve her home's roof because water comes in during the rainy season.
