Issa's story

Issa M. is 43 years old and lives in the town of Kireka in the Kampala central region of Uganda. He is married and has three children. All of his children are currently in school. Issa has a small retail shop, which he has had for 8 years.

To help expand his business, Issa has requested a loan of 1,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase essential commodities like sugar for resale. With the help of the loan from BRAC, Issa hopes to generate greater profits and pay school fees for his children. In the future, Issa hopes to open up a wholesale shop.
