A loan of $350 helped to purchase condiments.

Bintou's story

Mrs Bintou B. is a 60 year-old married mother of three. She lives with her children and husband in the Torakabougou quarter of Bougouni. After several years at primary school, she was given away in marriage, so she ended her studies and began to sell food condiments for a living - a trade she learned from her mother. She is now highly sought after at the market and her customer base is made up primarily of women.
In order to obtain sufficient working capital to satisfy her customers' demands she decided to work with Soro Yiriwaso in order to purchase a large amount of condiments. She sources her goods from Bamako (the capital of the Republic of Mali), and sells them at the Torakougou market and door to door, through cash sales. This is the first time she has worked with Soro Yiriwaso.
The turnover of her business is high, and she aims to generate an average monthly profit of 40,000 FCFA, which will be used to meet her family's needs and to improve her business.
