A loan of $375 helped to purchase commercial feed for her animals and fertilizers for her lemon grove.

Rosa Ysabel's story

Rosa, 42, is married and has 2 dependent children. They all live in a tiny village in the Tambogrande district, an agricultural area around Piura, more than four hours from Chiclayo, the capital city of the Lambayeque region. She lives in the rural part of this district and does not have basic services.

She raises sheep and poultry such as turkeys and chickens in a pen behind her house. Once she fattens them up, she sells them in the local market. In addition, she has a small farm where she has planted lemon trees which she harvests every week. She has more than 3 years' experience in her business. She is requesting the loan in order to buy commercial feeds to fatten her sheep and poultry, and to buy fertilizers for her lemon grove. She wants to continue investing in her business in order to achieve an adequate income, so she can help improve her family's quality of life.
