A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase 3 new computers for his internet cafe.

Jose Ariel's story

José is 31 years old and single. He was born in Pueblo Nuevo in the town of Estelí. He studied industrial engineering and for the past two years has owned an internet cafe in Pueblo Nuevo. He started this business because he needed to work, but didn't have a formal job. He first started a small store where he sold juices, sweets, snacks and then he added cell phone recharging and computer internet services. He did all this with his own working capital. He was 27 when he started his internet cafe and international calling business. Today he has two employees that help him wait on customers. The majority of his customers are high school students and people from the surrounding community.

He is requesting a loan to buy 3 new computers as this will help him to offer better service, attract more customers and give his business a better presentation. In the future he would like to buy more computers and increase then number of telephone booths for international calls. His goal is to have a computer training center and offer classes to the youth of Pueblo Nuevo and contribute to the development of this rural community. This way he will also be able to put into practice what he learned in the university.
