Gloria Roxana's story

Gloria Roxana is a member of the "Nuevas Amigas" ["New Friends"] communal bank, of the District of Calleria, Department of Ucayali. She is 45 years old. Her husband is an independent worker, and she has 4 children. She has worked with loans from Manuela Ramos for 3 years. Gloria's business is selling food and various sweets and snacks at a well-known school in the city. She has rented a kiosk so that she can sell her products; during the school year she works from Monday to Friday, all day. Due to the great demand, she has two people who help her. With her new loan of 2,500 Peruvian new soles, she will buy: 2 cases of cookies, 3 bags of candies, 5 strips of lollipops, 2 wholesale boxes of chocolate, 1 bag of chick pea snacks, 1 case of Fruna [fruit candies], 2 bags of toffee, 3 units of Chizitos cheese puffs, 3 units of Cheese Tris cheese puffs, 3 units of Lays potato chips, 2 cases of soft drinks, 2 cases of water, 1 case of juice, and disposable plates, spoons and napkins. This is a new challenge she has set for herself in life; she wants to keep working so she can help her husband and prepare for her old age. With Manuela Ramos, she has opportunities so that she can grow more with her business, and she is very grateful for this.
