Angelica's story

Angélica is a hardworking 36 year old who lives with her husband and two children in the home they own. She has sold animals (pigs and cows) for a living for 4 years and 8 months. This is how her business operates: she buys the animals from ranchers who live in rural areas and then sells them on the weekend. In this way, she generates weekly income. Her husband helps her with this work. They both get the animals and then sell them. They also find it more profitable to sell the meat from the living ones. On the other hand, she occasionally works taking care of children in people's homes when her neighbors ask her to. Sometimes her mother takes her place in the cow business to sell some animals a customer needs. She is very happy with her work and on holidays when there is a high demand for beef, pork, and lamb. Currently, her greatest challenge is working capital. This is her 19th loan with MFP and she is very grateful to belong to her communal bank and feels that her companions have become friends since they have always shared solidarity and they have taught her to save. She will invest the loan she is taking out to buy more pigs and increase her working capital.
