A loan of $575 helped to buy cotton fabric.

Wilma's story

Wilma is a member of the “Jesús de Nazaret” communal bank in Yarinacocha District, Ucayali Department. She’s 43 years old and her husband is self-employed.

In the ten years she’s been working with Manuela Ramos she’s purchased an overlock sewing machine she needed to better finish the items she makes. She will use the new, 1600 new sol, loan to buy the following: six meters of cotton fabric, one container of sewing machine lubricant, five little kits of needles in assorted numbers, five meters of fabric, two kilos of remnants, one set of rulers, one scissors and three boxes of pins.

Her work generates income that she can use to help her children who are still studying their careers. Her children help her with the household chores (on the days they have free time) so that she can get ahead with her sewing tasks. Manuela Ramos has given her the opportunity to have a bit of capital to work and she used it well. Thanks to it she’s grown as a businesswoman.
