A loan of $375 helped to buy supplies for her food stall.

Donna Summer's story

Donna is a member of the Las Rosas communal bank in the Yarinacocha district of Ucayali. She is 31 years old, married, and has one young son.

She’s been working with Manuela Ramos (organization) loans for three years. Donna sells food out of her home on the weekends.

With this loan of 1,000 PEN she will buy a ceviche fountain, 100 disposable plates, 100 disposable forks, and one pail to use for chicha.

She will repay the loan with the money she earns on her weekend sales, and will also have some left over to buy more supplies and ingredients. Thanks to her business she is able to support her husband who works as a motorcar driver. His daily income allows them to pay the household expenses.
