A loan of $1,075 helped to buy supplies.

Libia's story

Libia is a member of the Manos Unidas communal bank in the Calleria district, within the Ucayali, department. She is 69 years old, is married and has four adult children on their own. She has been working with loans from the Manuela Ramos organization for eight years. She makes and sells face towels.

She will use the money from this loan of 3,000 PEN to buy 5 meters of terry cloth, 3 dozen applications, six packets of laces, thread, yarn, a crochet hoop, and one meter of canvas fabric. These materials will allow her to make a large number of towels that she can offer to her friends. She spends her golden years with her husband. They live alone because their children have their own families now. They are very grateful to Manuela Ramos. “Now she is part of our family.”
