Naziko's story

Naziko T. lives in village Merissi, in mountainous Adjara. She is 48 years old and lives with her 22-year-old son. The main source of the family income comes from family agricultural activities. In particular, they have two cows and cheese from their milk is sold on the local market. They also have a plot with an area of 0.8 ha, where vegetables and fruits are grown. Naziko also works as a saleslady in a village grocery shop. Along with the above mentioned, Naziko and her son run a beekeeping business.

With the requested loan Naziko plans to expand the bee-keeping business. She will purchase additional bee-hives and bee colonies. This will allow them to increase sales of honey and thus, improve the income of the family.

Naziko plans to use the increased income for payment of the study fees of her son, as well as to purchase some household items to improve the family's living conditions.
