Lindo Amanecer Group's story

The communal bank "Lindo Amanecer" (Beautiful Sunrise) is in its second loan cycle at FINCA Peru. Its 17 members, who are taking out a group loan of 10,200 PEN, are involved in various businesses such as making artisanal goods, selling groceries, and selling prepared food at markets and fairs in the region.

CarL. is the President of the bank. She has been a member of FINCA Peru, on and off, for 10 years now. She is 29 years old, married, and has two children. Her children, aged 10 and 6, are both studying. CarL. has a locksmith business, which she started ten years ago. She will be using her loan of 600 PEN to purchase materials for her business. She enjoys working with FINCA Peru and saving money. Right now she is saving to purchase materials to fix up her house. She would also like to expand her locksmith workshop one day.
