A loan of $500 helped to buy plants, seeds, gardening bags, healthy soil, and fertilizers.

Marta Irma's story

Marta, age 53, lives in the Alegría department of Usulután. She has her own house where she lives with her children, ages 17 and 12. Marta’s business is a nursery, which is located at her house. She started the business with her own financial resources 11 years ago. She does not have a fixed schedule for taking care of it. Now her difficulty with the business is the lack of plants. That is why she is requesting a loan to invest in plants, seeds, gardening bags, healthy soil, and fertilizers. She will stock the business with these purchases. This assures her of having a strong business for some time, and she hopes to have improved sales. Her intention is to provide maintenance to her business and to watch it in order to invest when it is necessary. That way she will guarantee that her business will endure. She will also give her children what they need for their growth and education.
